In Collaboration With
Humans of the Boardroom was created in collaboration with the Grunin Foundation, Nonprofit Professionals of Color, and the New Jersey Center for Nonprofits to show people across New Jersey that board service is for everyone.
Anyone with a passion for building a brighter future and a willingness to make a difference can bring value to a nonprofit board. Our goal is to diversify boardrooms by bringing together individuals with different backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and skills so that nonprofit boards better reflect the communities they serve.
Through Humans of the Boardroom, we hope to inspire more people to see themselves as board leaders and take the first step toward making an impact in their communities.
WHAT DOES A BOARD DO?
Guide the Strategy
Set the direction, ask the big questions, and make sure every decision serves the mission long-term.
Support the Work
Fundraise, open doors, and advocate publicly. Board members are the organization’s most visible champions.
